CITY OF CLEBURNE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS


4B ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION:

Agenda

Created in 2001 to act on behalf of the City to develop, implement, provide, and finance projects under Section 4B of the Development Corporation Act.  The Board meets on the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM at City Hall, 10 North Robinson.  Administration (817) 645‑0901

 

AIRPORT BOARD:


Agenda

Works with the Airport Manager and has the responsibility of making recommendations on the planning, growth, and operations at the City Airport.  The Board meets on the 2nd Monday of every other month at 12:00 noon in the Terminal Building at the Airport, 1650 Airport Drive.  Development Services (817) 556‑8815


ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE:


Agenda

Assists the City of Cleburne in complying with the requirements of State laws regulating Animal Shelter operations.  The Committee must be composed of at least one (1) licensed veterinarian; one (1) county or municipal official; one (1) person whose duties include daily operation of an animal shelter; one (1) representative from an animal welfare organization; & three (3) citizens selected at large.  The Board meets at least three (3) times a year.  Animal Shelter (817) 648‑0650


ANNEXATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE:

BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION:

Responsible for preservation of public safety relating to proper materials and methods used for building construction, fire safety or improvements of buildings and deteriorated buildings within the City.  This is a quasi-judicial board, which has the authority under State Law to authorize condemnation of hazardous properties in the City.  The Commission meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 10 North Robinson.  Fire Services (817) 645‑0964

CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION:

May investigate and report all matters relating to enforcement and effect of Chapter 143, Local Government Code, and any rules adopted under this Chapter.  This is a board of appeal for Police and Fire Departments.  The Commission meets on the third Thursday of the month at 3:00 PM at City Hall, 10 North Robinson.  Human Resources (817) 645‑0915

Responsible for developing a two-year budget plan and crime control plan in order to call an election and propose a district tax to the qualified voters of the City of Cleburne as authorized by Chapter 363, Local Government Code. FIRE CONTROL, PREVENTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT:

Responsible for developing a two-year budget plan and fire control, prevention and emergency medical services plan in order to call an election and propose a district tax to the qualified voters of the City of Cleburne as authorized by Chapter 344, Local Government Code. The (Temporary) Board of Directors meets on an as-needed basis at Cleburne Central Fire Station, 114 W. Wardville. Fire Services--(817) 645-0964

HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION:

Works with the Downtown Redevelopment Manager and makes recommendations concerning new designations of historical landmarks and as well as decisions concerning certificate of appropriateness for alternations to a designated landmark.  The Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM at City Hall, 10 North Robinson.  Development Services (817) 556‑8815


LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD:

Works with the Library Director, makes recommendations on operations of the Municipal Library and the general supervision and control of matters pertaining to the City Library and shall execute the rules and regulations pertaining thereto.  Members are eligible to serve as Lay Representative of the North Texas Library System.  The Board meets on the first Monday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Cleburne Public Library, 302 West Henderson.  Library (817) 645‑0935 

MUSEUM ADVISORY BOARD:


Agenda

Works with the Museum Director in making recommendations and providing support for the Museum, its services and programs.  The board also assists in promoting preservation of the Museum building and other historic properties administered by the Museum.  The Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM at the Layland Museum, 201 North Caddo.  Museum (817) 645‑0940

PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD:

Works with the Parks and Recreation Director and recommends plans for future development of City Parks and other matters concerning the welfare of the City with regards to Parks and Recreation.  The Board meets once every month on the first Monday of the month at 12:00 Noon at Municipal Services Building, 418 West Henderson. TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT #1 (INDUSTRIAL PARK):

Works with City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and Finance Director.  Holds meetings concerning the project and finance plan for the area encompassed by the TIF #1 Boundary in the Cleburne Industrial Park.  The five (5) member board is typically comprised of three City Council members and two County representatives.  Meetings are held as needed, usually during the noon hour.  Administration (817) 645‑0901
